blood suckers

Its common knowledge among my friends that i have an abnormal fear of needles. be it for blood tests or vaccination of any kind. which explains why i have not been vaccinated for hepatitis b or any other vaccines and that it is no surprise that when the company offered free H1N1 vaccines for staff, i declined. of course i dont want to be infected but i also do not wan to be injected. no sireee!!! no thank u!!


bt yesterday, two ladies from sum lab came over for a health talk. the exact topic was cancer. now this is a rather touchy subject for me as my grandmother passed away two years ago from cancer and i have a rather complicated relationship with my ovaries. so this topic really interested me. they educated us about the our food intake n bla bla bla n that we should exercise (weird that i froze my gym yet again just the night before eh?).


Then they told us that we shud check our husbands blood type before giving birth coz if u have a positive blood type n ur husbands is negative, then thrs a chance ur baby will be abnormal. and we also hv to check for thalessemia. coz if both u n ur husband are thalessemia minor then ur kid will be a thalessemia major, and thalessemia major babies dont live long. so heartbreaking... thalessemia is a condition whr u dont have enuf blood cells.


nyway! at the end of it they offered to steal all our blood n drink it coz they're actually vampires and distant cousins of edward! ok no they offered us a package whr they take our blood and check it for irregularities and 60 different things like cholestrol level, sugar level, tumor markers, iodine and so on n so forth. it would normally cost RM 400 but we were getting a corporate rate at RM 295.


there was only 6 of us thr out off like 600 ppl in dis huge building n only 6 decided to turn up. such ignorant fools these ppl are. offer them free food n all wuud turn up. haiya msians.. so since all the other 5 people sed they were gonna do it, i too dcided to let them rob me of my blood .10 ml's ok?? dats like 10 big mineral water bottles!! or u know.. close..


so of course we went thru the mandatory drama prior to them poking my veins, starring moi. turns out it didnt hurt much. ok im kidding of course it hurt!! not like giving birth painful bt it hurt alright!


so now we are to wait 10 days, maybe more coz of xmas n all for our results. im not counting on much for my cholesterol level coz i eat like a truck driver... and the rest.. i'll just wait n see.. bit nerve wrecking.. kindda like waiting for ur spm results... cept its worse...
