2nd Jakarta trip

Good morning!!

Hows evryone been? Its been a crazy few days for me.. But the good news is my wedding stuff is almost settled... well not really but were getting there. Being bogged down with a mountain load of work always makes me feel like blogging. Procrastination is such a wonderful sin. So jakarta was dirty and crazy jammed. And my dress isnt ready. It will be shipped to me in the next couple of days/week. Im not angry that it isnt done eventho i went all d way. coz i love them too much. i love my designer, the store owner and all their staff!! they're the nicest most accomodating people ever!! AND they FED ME FOOD!! so that makes them one of my fav people in the world!! like if there was a big flood and i was the only one who has a big huge ship to save mankind, i would pick these people over u guys who have never fed me. So really, think about it ok. im free most weekends.

We did the fittings for my dresses and i swoooned!! I looked so pretty!!! i promise!! like people in the store who were shopping came over and were staring smiling and going oooohhhh and aaaaahhh and i was waving like a princess. yes. i waved. it was my 5 mins of fame. let me have it. mama made me stop tho. party pooper. but they're still fixing on the beads and finalising evrything. they are increadibly thorough. like there was not a single flyaway thread on my dress. not one. totally worth the price.

my cards were a different matter. i would have eaten the head of the man who was in charge if he didnt look so dirty. He is by all accounts THE MOST ANNOYING PERSON I HAVE EVER MET!! i was soooooo mad at him but everytime i looked at him i wanted to laugh!! i was really2 angry, but he looked so pathetic and idiotic. i promise. he wore a pair of really short shorts and a baby t. I swear, it was a baby t. It was red and had a face of a kitty on it with the words 'look me in the eye' printed on it. IN GLITTER!!! and the top was also 3 sizes too small for him. it was such a sight. after checking the cards he conveniently told me they forgot to print my thank you tags. and we were leaving the nxt day. Thank god for pak ijat, the driver we hired there. he truly is godsent. i got the last of my cards yesterday at the airport which as another huge drama that ended in me crying my eyeballs out while on the phone w mama, jj and La. 

All in all, i have to say the jkt trip this time was not as relaxed as i thought it would be. oh did i mention the tailor who did my dress on jj's side did not sew the dress. All i got was a bustier and a skirt. Thats all. And he got all upset that i didnt tell him i was coming. I had specifically told him and his wife we were coming last weekend. he forgot. and was going all angry at me. of course i dropped all little miss polite and went into hulk mode. U DO NOT MESS WITH A BRIDES DRESS. i asked him for the bustier and skirt n the rest of my material to be sent to another tailor. when he came back from getting them for his wife, he was all nice and diplomatic. his wife must have reminded him of the dates. cubit kang!! but all was well and i got them done in 3 days. 3 DAYS!!! can u believe it!??

So im now waiting on my akad nikah n reception tops. i already have the skirt and veil with me. and my custom made shoes. and altered bustier. i cant even berangan with baju's at home coz everything is incomplete. I cant wait to get em all!!

i have more to tell but its gonna have to wait. Due to yesterdays drama i have a mountain load of work to clear. Toodlooo!!

Tuesday rants

I will be getting my wedding dress in a couple of days and i so nervous! I hope and wish it turns out beautiful. Coz really mama and the designer did the entire frontal part. I only saw the back part of the dress on the ipad and wanted no other. I trust mama's taste completely but i just cant imagine what it looks like on the front...  and mama wasnt very happy with the back coz she was afraid it might look a bit too revealing. Sowe compromised with me giving her the frontal part to design, and opting for a thicker, less sheer material for the back part.

And dont even get me started on the cards!! We picked this particular shop coz :- A. They had airconditioning. It was mighty hot there and we basically ran from one aircond shop to another, ignoring the open aired ones. And B. This shop had three branches in the centre alone! so of course they had to be good right!?? Well I got a bit upset when i tried calling them from here to reconfirm that they got the changes i made and also to increase our order. My calls were rejected and my texts were left unanswered, as were my emails. I finally got thru when i called the landline and up till today, I still have not gotten the confirmation draft email she promised. So guys, if you go to indon to get your cards done. Avoid this shop called DutaGraphia. DO NOT be lured by the cool billowing aircond!!

Im still on the look out for wedding shoes.. I have already found one which i love! but im still waiting for some details to have it shipped so in the meantime, im shoeless still!!

Ive still got to tie up some loose ends here and there but i guess the major parts are more or less done. Butterflies in my tummy are growing by the day!!

Dear god, please make everything smooth and everybody happy and smiley on my wedding day. Id really appreciate it if you would make my skin glow too. Also, I would really love it if you would make my bank account grow again. Coz at the moment, its looking a little lean.. thats all for now. Thank you very much. 

12 Random facts about me

1. I hate long drives. I have a crazy phobia of accidents. I especially hate long drives at night. Riding on a bus on a long haul trip is as good as suicide.

2. I love anything sweet. but i cannot have sweet stuff for bfast- ie pancakes, cereal. I can have them if i have some other savoury items on the side.

3. Breakfast is my most favourite meal of the day. Dinner is a close second.

4. I cannot stand the cold. I go to the movies with blankets/shawl and a pair of ugly oversized comfy airline socks. Im just as embarrasing at the office.

5. I hid a couple of delicious caramel macarons in the fridge on saturday coz i was afraid my brothers would eat them. I am reminded of them everyday at work but always forget when i get home. Please dont forget today ok?

6. I can eat a huge bowl of cherries in a matter of minutes. Its like magic.

7. I have an obsession with nuts. Walnuts and pecans are absolute favs.

8. I am super nervous that my wedding dress and invites dont turn out the way i pictured them. I hope i dont throw a bitchfest...

9. My niece tells me she wants to marry me.. and my fiance.. she thinks once you have taken ur morning shower u can marry. She goes- mama na! na dah mandi!! jom kawen??

10. I hate it when make up artists put on mascara for me. I find it to be one of the most uncomfortable thing in the world. next to lip gloss. Which i also dislike.

11. I read the news with my legs folded up under me. and i normally wear sleep pants to go read so i can crash as soon i reach home n remove my mke up. nothing glamorous about that.

12. I am NOT as huge as i look on TV. All this hi def plasma lcd stuff is making me look all podgy n fat. Liars is what they are i tell u.

i know i told my dad there wouldnt be anymore wedding talk.. but i really wonder who has been telling him about my blog updates coz none of my siblings read my blog.. n he couldnt have read it himself.. i mean lets be realistic.. he bought a tablet computer and didnt know how to turn it on.. so whoevers been feeding him stories shut ur trap n go play in traffic ok? thank u.

it has been such a super duper packed awesomely tiring one week for us. JJ took a one week leave and came back to settle everything. our jakarta trip was a mix of sugar spice and dirty mucky icky black water (will get to that later). we managed to get the stuff we want and i cannot wait to see all end products.

i am so glad jj n i didnt argue once throughout the trip, or the entire week for that matter. we saw eye to eye on most things and those that we didnt, we compromised on. and im so thankful for that.

we also did out pre wedding photo and video shoot at kalumpang. it was fun to say the least. but also pretty draining. considering we had just returned from jkt on tuesday after midnight and spent the entire wednesday running errands and buying props for the shoot and marinaded the chicken n made spag bol n sandwiches for the shoot till late night. and left for the shoot at 7am the following day. i promise if my body cud speak, it'd have spanked and scolded me silly.

but im so happy that the photos turned out beautiful. we definitely bonded this week. after being apart for so long it felt nice to have him around all the time. well for a week at least...
